What our customers ask first

Is Safion's technology suitable for our production volume?

Safion offers solutions for every scale. The Inspectrum.10-5 ES with Battery QA plug-in handles 300–600 cells per hour at a manual workstation – ideal for pilot production and small series. The Examight Series is built for mass production with throughputs exceeding 10,000 cells per hour. Both systems use the same rapidEIS core technology.

How long does integration into an existing production line take?

The Examight Series integrates via standard digital I/O interfaces and Ethernet – no changes to your existing production process are required. For most customers, mechanical installation and software commissioning are completed within a few days. The Inspectrum tabletop systems are operational within minutes of unboxing.

Can we test Safion's technology before committing?

Yes. Safion offers a free demo measurement on your own battery cells. You send us your cells or we visit your site – and you see the measurement results directly on your production material before making any decision.

Which cell formats and chemistries does Safion support?

All common cell formats are supported: cylindrical (18650, 21700, 4680 and others), pouch, and prismatic. The measurement technology is chemistry-agnostic and works with lithium-ion and sodium-ion cells across all common cathode and anode materials.

How quickly can we be up and running?

For manual workstations: same day. For automated inline integration: typically 1–2 weeks from delivery including commissioning. Safion provides full onboarding support and remote assistance for setup and configuration.

We already use OCV and AC-IR – why would we need rapidEIS?

OCV and AC-IR were developed for lead-acid batteries and have proven to be poor indicators of lithium-ion cell quality and long-term performance. They cannot detect degradation mechanisms such as SEI layer growth or lithium plating. rapidEIS identifies weak cells that pass OCV and AC-IR undetected – before they cause pack failures, safety incidents, or warranty claims.
